If your goal is to read information or follow a normal web route, start with a current mobile browser. If a file is required, use Download to check its source and permissions. If an app or link will not open, first identify whether the problem is the browser, the device, the link or the external destination before changing device-wide settings.

Choose the access method that fits the task

A browser is often the simplest route for information pages because it does not require installation. An installed app can provide a different experience, but it also introduces file-source, permission and update questions. Start with the method that is actually required for the task rather than assuming that every mobile action needs an app.

If you are following an account route from the browser and it opens normally, there may be no reason to install anything. If the destination specifically provides an app-related route, read the current instructions there and use Download for file checks when a file is involved.

Mobile-browser checks

  1. Use a current browser.
Older browsers can have rendering or security problems that disappear after a normal update.
  2. Let the page finish loading.
Repeated taps while a request is still running can create duplicate navigation or an unclear state.
  3. Check zoom and orientation.
If controls are partly hidden, return to a normal zoom level or change orientation before tapping them.
  4. Change one setting at a time.
If a blocker or privacy setting is involved, test one change so you know what actually affects the page.
  5. Verify unexpected redirects.
Do not enter credentials after a redirect you did not expect until you have confirmed the destination.

When an app-related link does not open

A link may depend on an installed application, browser permission, operating-system association or an external destination that is temporarily unavailable. First check whether the same task has a normal web route. If it does, use that route to determine whether the problem is specific to the app link.

If the link tries to download a file, move to the Download page and check the source before installing. If the link opens an unfamiliar page, stop and verify it before entering account information.

When the mobile layout looks broken

Close the on-screen keyboard, return browser zoom to a normal level and allow the page to settle. Some mobile problems are caused by extensions, content blockers or a partially loaded stylesheet rather than the underlying account route. A single controlled reload is more informative than repeatedly refreshing.

If a button remains partly hidden, do not guess where to tap. Use a supported orientation or another current browser. The goal is to make the controls clear before you perform an action.

App permissions and device settings

If an installed application requests a permission, read the request in the context of the function you expect. Avoid granting broad access only to get past a prompt. Keep normal device security protections enabled and review permissions later if you no longer use a feature.

Do not change multiple device-wide settings to solve one opening problem. That can create new security or privacy issues while hiding the original cause.

Account access on mobile

If the page opens correctly but credentials are rejected, move to Login. A credential problem should be handled through the account service's recovery process, not by repeatedly reinstalling an app. If you are creating an account, use Register for preparation and verification checks.

Next best action

Use Download when a file is involved. Use Login or Register when the mobile route works but the account task is the problem. Use Support when you cannot tell whether the failure is the browser, device, app link or external destination.
